Avid finally arrives at Pogo Films!

Pogo Films are excited to announce that we are now offering Avid Media Composer. Ever since Pogo’s inception we have prided ourselves with being one of the first post houses to use Final Cut Pro exclusively. It has always been our specialty and we shall continue to use it as per demand but we can now start applying our know-how to Avid as well. “It’s a great addition to our services and we are very pleased with its Stereo 3D editing capabilities” says Olivier Lauchenauer.

There are a number of advantages to having Avid. It is a very popular platform for long form editing and has a dedicated and well established user base. The ability of Avid to work on multi-camera footage as well as collaborative editing is very impressive. Its great stability and media management make the programme one of the best in the business.

For Pogo, this is truly something to get excited about.  Avid is now fully compatible with our system. Our high-end grading system, the Quantel IQ Pablo Neo, supports Avid conforms with DNxHD so you will still be able to get that top-notch grading for your Avid project. We now have the best of both worlds in our editing systems, and we believe it will bring us the flexibility to look after more types of projects.

At Pogo Films we are all thrilled about bringing Avid into the facility. “Some of its new features are making the transition from Final Cut to Avid a bit easier” Jamie Dickinson, our senior colourist and online editor, says. He adds, “the stereo tools in it are great for offlining on Avid which will make it easier to online on our Pablo Neo.” We believe this is the next big step for our company and we are excited to see what Avid will bring to all of our projects in the future.
