April 2009

Pogo Films delivered all the graphic content for both the Broadcast and the interactive versions of Hat Trick’s “Bryony makes a Zombie Movie”

How to...

With the concept for the documentary being that collaborators from all over the world would work together to create a hit zombie movie by working remotely using Youtube as a platform.
The experimental and somewhat quirky idea sounded as though Ed Wood had risen from the dead and decided to try his luck in the 21st Century!
Thus the graphics needed to reflect humor as well as the obvious blood, guts and gore. Pogo designer, Bruno Ferreira proposed a ‘comic book’ feel for the imagery – to reinforce the sense of adventure and add vibrancy to the project.

Bruno used flash animations and cinema4D models rendered with Sketch and Toon to compose the final opening sequence in After Effects, which was later transferred to the Final Cut Pro editing room. Using flash animations, as well as Cinema4D models, he created the opening sequence.

The project benefited from Pogo Films’ integrated and holistic working model.  All Graphic Designers at Pogo are fully competent in Final Cut Pro, allowing them to work in a synchronized way and to speed up projects such as this.  The project’s editor, Will Hodgson, worked closely with the design team to ensure that the graphics were seamlessly integrated in the final edit.
